"Oxfords, Not Brogues."
Last month marked the beginning and ending of LCM. The extended weekend saw some of the worlds most famous brands showcase their new season menswear.
The weekend's catwalks kicked-off on Day 1 with Topman's Design collection. The collection is an in-house designed premium collection from Topman which is always shocased during LCM.
The collection featured bold tartan prints, an Avant Garde wild west theme, using star decals, denim and fringing, smart tailored suits and outwear, Grease Mechanic One-Pieces and also an array of shearing coats.
My Day 2 highlight was most definitely Oliver Spencer's Collection. The collection featured the distinctive 'Lookout Coat', A monochromic colour scheme and Leather holdalls.
Day 3 featured a huge array of Designers and Brands, To name but a Few: Alexander McQueen, Dunhill, Mr Porter, Pringle of Scotland, Moshcino and J.W Anderson. For me, Pringle's collection really stood out, it embraced typical British Winter weather (Moshcino made it snow) and provided menswear with winter warmers including coats, scarves, hats, polar neck jumpers and fleeces.
The final concluding day of LCM was the day of the suits. Paul Smith collaborated with British Gymnast's to showcase A Suit to Travel in, the crease free suit.
LCM wouldn't be the same without an explosive showcase from Burberry, who at the minute, are at the forefront of British Fashion.
Under the watchful eye of current Creative Director Christopher Bailey the Burberry show featured an array deep muted colours. The collection centre's around a 'Classically Bohemian' theme. The collection featured Burberry's 'Carryall Bag' in a rainbow spectrum of colours. The collection features: Grainy Leather, Felted wool cashmere, bonded shearling and corduroy. Mirror embellishments and quilted cotton. Camouflage and animal prints.
Over the weekend there were different presentations in various locations of London. MRPORTER.COM is the award-winning global retail destination for men’s style, combining the best international menswear with editorial content. Mr Porter collaborated with new film, that premiers this month, Kingsman: The Secret Service and showcased a dapper collection of suits, outwear and accessories that can be seen in the movie.
